Common questions

Do conferences count toward PMP renewal?

Events and conferences are one of the Education activity types PMI accepts for PDUs. You report them in PMI's CCR system. Check that the content fits PMI's rules and record the hours you actually attended.

Are there free project management events?

Yes. PMI's PMXPO 2026 is free to register and available on demand until January 29, 2027, and PMI lists 12 PDUs for it. Many PMI chapters also run free or low-cost meetings and webinars.

How do I get my employer to pay for a conference?

Show the total cost, what you will learn, and how the team benefits. The Make the case tab builds a short request you can edit and send to your manager.

How current is this list?
