Project Manager Interview Simulator
Practice a project manager interview out loud. The interviewer asks real PM interview questions, you answer by speaking or typing against the clock, and every answer gets instant scores for structure, specifics, ownership, key points and delivery.
How to use the interview simulator
- Set up your interview: choose the question focus, your level, how many questions, the interviewer's style and whether you will speak or type.
- Answer like it's real: the interviewer reads each question aloud. Use the thinking time, then answer within the time limit.
- Read your feedback: see your five scores, what worked, what to do next time and the points a strong answer covers.
- Retry and improve: try the same question again, or finish the interview for a report with your practice plan.
Tips for project manager interviews
- Use STAR for behavioral questions: the Situation, your Task, the Actions you took, and the Result, ideally with a number.
- Say "I" for your actions: credit the team, but make your own contribution clear.
- Aim for one to two minutes per answer. Longer answers tend to lose the interviewer.
- Prepare three adaptable stories: a conflict, a recovery from a setback, and a success with a measurable result.
Common questions
How does the interview simulator score my answers?
Each answer gets five instant scores out of 100. Structure checks for a clear story (Situation, Task, Action, Result) or clear steps. Key points checks what interviewers listen for on that question. Specifics looks for numbers and concrete detail. Ownership compares how often you say "I" and "we". Delivery looks at length, pace and filler words. The scores are calculated automatically and are a practice guide, not a prediction of any hiring decision.
Can I answer out loud?
Yes. Speaking mode uses your browser's speech recognition to turn your answer into text, and it works best in Chrome or Edge. Because browsers block the microphone inside embedded pages, the interview room opens in its own window when you choose speaking. You can also type your answers on any device.
Is the interview simulator free?
You can do one free practice interview with three mixed questions and instant scoring. A PM Exam Lab pass unlocks unlimited interviews, all question sets, up to eight questions per round, downloadable reports and your progress over time.
What questions does it ask?
Thirty common project manager interview questions across six types: behavioral, situational, technical, agile, leadership and motivation. They range from "Tell me about yourself" to critical path, risk, scope change and stakeholder conflict.
Are my answers saved?
Your answers and history stay in your browser. If you use the AI coach, the question and that one answer are sent to the AI service to generate feedback.
